The Japanese Garden

The Brief

We consulted with our clients over an area within their large garden that they wanted to gain more use of. The area contained a summer house that is used frequently however the clients felt it was overshadowed by a large tree and the areas needed more interest.

The Solution

Having previously worked with the clients developing a garden scheme in the front garden we had an understanding of what they wanted. We developed a concept plan based on a low maintenance Japanese garden. Removing the tree would open up the space and enable Instant Scenery to develop interesting features to not only make it a usable space but one that would look great all year round.

The Outcome

The intention was to create a useable low maintenance garden, something that was achieved. A surprising element of the complete design was just what a quiet and reflective garden we had built. We had incorporated elements and materials (through client consultation) we had not used previously.

Although a hard and challenging build it has been one of our favourites due to the design and build being completely different pushing new boundaries and learning new skills to improve our service for future clients.
